I call myself a Professional Mud Hardener, but recently, thanks to this cartoon by Tom Gauld, I have taken to describing myself as a Diabolical Ceramicist.

I dream clay, it consumes me.
Some days when I am elbow deep in a bucket of freezing cold mud, I grumble that maybe I should have been a lawyer like my father said, instead of an artist.

I would have been a terrible lawyer. I don’t like to use unnecessary words. Internally I am verbose, externally, well, I favour ambiguity.
I like to let the work speak for itself and if people walk away thinking different things about the work than I intended, well that is not necessarily a bad thing.
More photos, more words coming soon.
This site is still under haphazard construction.
There should be a sign, Diabolical Ceramicist at work.
Maybe I should make one.
